Teresita Ang-See, President

Founding president of Kaisa Para Sa Kaunlaran Inc., an organization of Chinese Filipinos actively promoting the integration of the ethnic Chinese into mainstream Philippine society. She now serves as Executive Trustee of the Kaisa Heritage Center which houses the Bahay Tsinoy, museum of the Chinese in Philippine life, a research and data bank center, a library and photo archives.

During recent years, Tessy has been better known as a crime fighter. She is currently the executive chairman of the People’s Law Enforcement Board (Manila), one of the founding trustees of Mamamayan Ayaw sa Droga (Movement Against Drugs), an incorporator of Philippine National Police Foundation, the executive committee convenor of the Multisectoral Anti-Crime Council, the chairperson of the Movement or Restoration of Peace & Order, one of the spokespersons of the Citizens Action Against Crime.

Out of personal choice, however, is her job of being a bridge of understanding between Filipinos and the Tsinoys (or Chinese Filipinos). She is involved in research work, teaching, giving lectures and conducting seminars on the Chinese in Philippine life, and actively fights against any form of racial discrimination or prejudices. Ang See also lectures at the Department of Anthropology & Sociology and Chinese Studies Department of Ateneo De Manila University.

Formerly the editor-in-chief, Ang See is now one of the editorial consultants of Tulay Fortnightly, Chinese Filipino Digest. She also serves as member of the Board of Association of TOWNS Awardees, Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Foundation Inc., Philippine-China Development Resource Center, Philippine Association for Chinese Studies and Konsyensyang Pilipino.
